Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College celebrates
Black History Month 2009
with
“Quest for Black Citizenship in the Americas”
Thursday February 19, 2009 ~ 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
The event will feature an evening of education and culture presented by OWATC and the Utah Humanities Council.
The education portion will be presented by Dr. Freddie Cooper (educator, advocate and community leader).
The culture portion will be presented by Dr. David O. Akombo (Associate Professor of Music at Weber State University, acclaimed musician, dancer and Ethnomusicologist).
There will be community awards presented and the Association for the Improvement of Minorinites in Internal Revenue Service will be awarding a scholarship.
The event is free to the public and all interested are encouraged to attend.

The event will also feature the
Annual African-American Scholarship Fund Raising “Soul Food” Banquet
Tickets are $20.00 for one adult and $30.00 for two adults; children under 12 eat free.

- Black-eyed peas
- Macaroni and cheese
- Hush puppies
- Southern dessert bar
- Soft drinks and punch
