About the student services bloggers

Updated November 19th, 2008

We are posting this blog as a way to better stay in touch with students and to let students know what is happening.

So here’s a little about us…

Rhonda:

First, I have to disclose that I think I have the best job in the world. I oversee the support services that help students succeed here at the Ogden-Weber tech college. These departments include: Enrollment, Financial Aid, Counseling, Assessment, the Careeer Center, Marketing, the Registrar’s office, Diversity, ADA, the Children’s School and Campus Events. If that sounds like a lot, it would be, except that each department has a manager who knows–and I have to admit does–a lot more than I do.

I love getting up in the morning because if we a great job each day, it can make a difference for students. I get to work with employees who choose to be here because they genuinely want to help students. I see how our people make the choice to treat every student with encouragement and respect. Every day, we see students who came in the door nervous and excited and see them leave a success. It doesn’t get better than that.

Sheri

Welcome to the OWATC Student Services Blog Page!. My name is Sheri Semerjian and I serve as the administrative assistant to our Vice President, Rhonda Boren as well as the College’s event coordinator.
I’ve been an employee here since October, 1989 working in the best career I could ever have imagined! Every day at this wonderful college is completely unique because I have the pleasure of working with so many incredibly talented and professional people. Over the years I’ve seen many changes on this campus and much growth as we have expanded to our other campuses at the BDO, Roy, and Lean Manufacturing Training Center. One of the most rewarding things I’ve done here is help put together our spring and winter graduation programs and it never fails to reaffirm my faith in the power of education when I see the smiles of our graduates completing their training and looking forward to great careers and wonderful opportunities! I hope you’ll blog with us and share your thoughts about the College, it’s training programs, and of course student services!!
